位于济南的山东舜丰生物科技有限公司凭借自主研发的CRISPR Cas SF01和CRISPR Cas SF02技术，领先于中国的基因编辑技术领域，打破了外国公司对该技术的垄断。
With the support of these breakthrough technologies, the company has cultivated over 20 new high-yielding crop varieties, including high-yield rice and high-oleic soybeans, according to Li Guofu, deputy general manager of the company.

Jinan has been prioritizing support for scientific innovation in its local companies. In 2023, the city's investment in research and development surged to 34.68 billion yuan ($4.79 billion), marking a notable year-on-year growth of 13.1 percent.
济南一直优先支持本地企业的科学创新。2023年，济南的研发投入346.8亿元，同比增长13.1%。
